Nine students hijack Ethiopian plane
Nine university students have hijacked an Ethiopian plane with 50 passengers on board at Khartoum airport, according to state-run Sudan television.
The report said the hijackers, students at Ethiopia's Addis Ababa University, were demanding meetings with US and British diplomats.
It added that the Sudanese government had set up a committee to negotiate with the hijackers "in order to protect the passengers from any harm".
The flight set off from the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and landed at Khartoum airport at 6:20pm.
It is not clear where the flight had been heading and which carrier owned it.
