British peacekeepers on patrol near a Kosovo village bordering Macedonia have struck a land mine, killing one soldier and injuring two others.

The incident occurred yesterday near the village of Krivenik, said Austrian Major Alex Jandesek, a spokesman for NATO-led peacekeepers in Kosovo, known as KFOR.
