Probe starts into SA crush deaths
Football officials in South Africa are meeting today to decide what caused a stampede at a football match in Johannesburg in which at least 43 fans died.
People were killed both inside and outside the ground. Victims were pulled from the crowd and given resuscitation on the pitch.
The soccer fans were there to see a game between the country's two biggest teams, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
A live broadcast showed bodies scattered inside the stadium and people being treated on the pitch.
Ambulances were unable to reach the injured so helicopters took the seriously wounded to hospital.
