Concert visit as public life goes on for Sophie

Sophie Rhys-Jones is making her first public appearance since standing down as head of her PR firm following the "Sophie tapes" revelations.

Edward and Sophie are due to attend a performance at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall by the National Children's Orchestra of Scotland and Camerata Scotland.

The appearance comes after British Culture Secretary Chris Smith said members of the Royal Family should behave, like MPs, with the "highest degree of probity".

Sophie announced at the weekend she was stepping down as chairman of R-JH Public Relations, but made it clear she would maintain her involvement in the company and had no plans to give up her 'working royal' status.

Her comments about senior royals, leading politicians and issues such as fox-hunting prompted some backbench Labour MPs to call for a review of the role of the monarchy, but Downing Street said Tony Blair was 100% behind the royals.

Sophie's PR partner Murray Harkin, 36, also resigned amid damaging revelations about his personal life after he, like Sophie, was duped by an undercover newspaper reporter posing as an Arab sheikh.
