Euthanasia made legal in Netherlands

The Dutch Parliament has taken the final step to enact a euthanasia law, making the Netherlands the first nation to legalise euthanasia.

The law will allow doctors end the lives of patients who are suffering unbearably, and left without hope.

An estimated 10,000 gathered outside the Hague building in one last show of discontent this evening.
