Nato troops attacked as they seize Bosnian bank

Police and Nato peacekeepers have seized control of a Bosnian bank believed to be used by Croat extremists.

The bank is believed to be the financial base of the Croatian Democratic Union which wants to establish a separate Croat state in southwestern Bosnia.

Angry Bosnian Croats responded by stoning international officials, beating up employees of international organisations and ransacking an office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Bosnia-Herzegovina was divided into a Bosnian Serb mini-state and the Muslim-Croat Federation as part of the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement which ended the Bosnian war.
