Suspected bomb mastermind blown up in phone box

A leading Palestinian suspected of being a bomb mastermind was blown up today when a booby-trapped public phone he regularly used exploded on a West Bank Street.

Palestinians immediately blamed Israel for the killing, which came a day after the sides held ‘‘argumentative’’ and inconclusive talks on ending more than six months of Mideast violence.
