Barrymore has checked into the Marchwood Priory, near Southampton, Hampshire.

A hospital spokesman confirmed that Barrymore had checked in, adding that he had been been treated there before.

He said the entertainer had been "under a considerable amount of stress after the last 24 hours or so".

The man who drowned in Barrymore's pool at his home in Roydon, near Harlow , Essex, was named by police as 31-year-old Stuart Lubbock.

Post-mortem tests revealed Mr Lubbock, a wholesale butcher's supervisor of Harlow, died from drowning, but further tests were being carried out.

Described as a "pleasant, sociable" man by neighbours, he died in hospital after being found early on Saturday.

Police said they are still keeping an open mind about his death.
