12th foot-and-mouth case discovered in Holland

A 12th case of foot-and-mouth has been detected in the Netherlands.

It was found in the same area as nearly all previous cases of the disease.

Tough measures by the Dutch appear to have contained the disease to a small area near Oene.

Health authorities will immediately destroy the 78 cattle and 18 sheep at the infected farm near Vaassen. They will also isolate the 70 farms that fall within a 2,000 yard circle.
