30 die in shrine stampede

A stampede outside a shrine in eastern Pakistan killed 30 worshippers and injured 100 others, 35 seriously, police said today.

Hundreds of people surged through the gates of the shrine of Baba Farid Shakargang in Pakbattan Sharif, some 102 miles east of Multan.
