Schizophrenic bludgeoned three relatives to death
A paranoid schizophrenic bludgeoned three members of his family to death with a hammer after hearing "voices" instructing him to do it, a court in Britain has been told.
Twenty-five-year-old Stuart Michael Hall, was ordered to be detained indefinitely at a secure mental hospital after he admitted killing his mother, aunt and grandfather at the family home in Yewdale Crescent, Coventry, in October last year.
Hall denied three counts of murder when he appeared at Birmingham Crown Court but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
The court was told that Hall "ambushed" his mother Susan Hall, aged 43, aunt Lynda Hall, aged 46, and grandfather Clifford Hall, aged 76, striking them several times with a hammer.
