Foot-and-mouth suspected in Belgium

A suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease is being investigated in Belgium.

Officials are conducting tests at a cattle farm in the south of the country, which so far has escaped the virus.

The farm in Villers-la-Tour near Chimay, 56 miles south of Brussels, was quarantined after two animals showed symptoms of the disease, RTBF television reported.

It is not the first suspected case in Belgium, but tests have so far been negative.
