Six new foot-and-mouth cases in Scotland

The number of Scottish cases of foot-and-mouth disease has risen to 85.

Six new farms were confirmed as being affected by the disease, all in Dumfries and Galloway, says a Scottish Executive spokesman.

The Army is increasing its presence in the region to help co-ordinate the cull.
