German tourist falls to death from train
A German tourist has fallen to his death from a moving train inThailand while hanging out of the door in an apparent prank.
They said Tim Heriberge, 27, slipped and fell while travelling on an express train from Bangkok to the southern resort of Trang.
His body was found along the tracks near Nongchok village, 80 miles south of Bangkok.
Mr Heriberge, a native of Stuttgart, was traveling with two other Westerners and was apparently drunk, Captain Watchara Chinowan, chief of Nongchok police station said.
He quoted witnesses as saying that Mr Heriberge left his compartment in an intoxicated state and was seen hanging out of the door.
Kusuman Sritula, a spokeswoman for the State Railways of Thailand, quoted a waiter on the train as saying that Mr Heriberge and his two companions consumed 20 cans of beer.
One of the companions, who did not want to be named said that Mr Heriberge had drunk three or four cans.
