16 dead as plane crashes in Angola
A civilian plane slammed into a mountain near the Angolan city of Lubango, killing all but one of 17 people on board.
A Swedish passenger survived the crash, which happened as the plane was preparing to land at Lubango
Among the victims were three Angolans employed by a Portuguese bank, Banco de Fomento Exterior, in Angola.
Another bank employee and his wife, both of Angolan-Portuguese extract, also died.
The nationalities of the other victims were not known and there was no information on the type of plane involved.
Portuguese news agency Lusa says the plane was chartered by Angolan company Sociedade de Aviacao Ligeira.
