Court upholds treason conviction of puppet premier

An appeal court has upheld the conviction for treason of a Kuwaiti officer who headed a short-lived puppet government after Iraq's 1990 invasion.

But the judge commuted the death sentence imposed on Alaa Hussein to life imprisonment.
