Japanese Prime Minister under pressure to resign

Opposition parties in Japan are pressing for the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori.

They say his reported secret deal to step down soon has created a political vacuum.

Opposition MP's have been grilling Mori in Parliament, saying the decision to resign should have been made before the public, not in a secretive meeting of his ruling party powerbrokers.

His term as party president expires in September.
