Earthquake shakes Pacific Northwest

A strong earthquake has shaken the Pacific Northwest region of the US, shattering windows in downtown Seattle and rattling Portland, Oregon, for nearly half a minute. There is no immediate word of injuries.

The magnitude 6.2 earthquake was centered 30 miles southwest of Seattle and was felt in southern Canada, including the city of Vancouver.
