Foot and mouth tally hits 16

The number of confirmed cases of foot and mouth disease in Britain has reached 16.

British Agriculture Minister Nick Brown is warning he may shut footpaths close to farms in a bid to prevent the spread of the disease.

In Europe, the Dutch have slaughtered more than 3,000 animals from Britain while Spain has killed 540 pigs.
