Sigourney Weaver not making Alien 5

Sigourney Weaver has denied she is to star in a fifth Alien movie.

She says she has not agreed to star in the film and has not even spoken to anyone about the possibility of doing so.

Reports suggested she would be paid $22m to reprise her role as Ellen Ripley.

But Weaver reportedly said: "I was interested to read that I was doing a fifth film for a phenomenal amount of money.

"Unfortunately, it wasn't true. At least the sum. And I haven't really talked to Fox about making another."

She added that while it was very likely a script for a fifth Alien was 'lying around at Fox somewhere', she had not been approached by the film company.
