Gladiator prepares for battle to win this year's Oscars

Gladiator leads the list of nominations for this year's Oscars with 12, including the big three of Best Film, Best Actor and Best Director.

Russell Crowe is joined in the Best Actor category by Tom Hanks, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem and Ed Harris. Jamie Bell wasn't nominated for Billy Elliot.
