Pop mogul in court on abuse charges

Jonathan King has appeared in court charged with 14 sex offences.

Mr King, 56, appeared at Staines Magistrates Court, west London, for a five-minute hearing.

He is charged with eight counts of serious sexual offences with males under the age of 16, four counts of indecent assault and two counts of attempted serious sexual offences.

The charges span from 1969 to 1987.

Mr King, whose real name is Kenneth George King, from Bayswater, west London, has been remanded on bail until March 6, when the case will come before the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing.

Bail conditions include no contact with witnesses and weekly reporting to a police station
