Gene map set to aid disease fight

Scientists probing the so-called book of life have released research sequencing and mapping the human genome - a development set to revolutionise the treatment of illness and disease.

The draft sequence of the human "genetic blueprint", assembled by the International Human Genome Sequencing Consortium, has been published in Nature magazine.
