Saddam builds anti-Israeli army

Saddam Hussein has begun to form an army to liberate Jerusalem from Israeli rule.

Local newspapers report a member of the Revolutionary Command Council saying it did not recognise any Israeli government .

Seven million Iraqis are already reported to have signed up as volunteer soldiers for a holy war against the Jewish state.

Ali Hassan Al Meguid of the RCC told reporters: "At the orders of President Saddam Hussein, we have started to form the first brigade of volunteers in the Al Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) Army to liberate Jerusalem."
