Marc Dutroux, Belgium’s most notorious prisoner who has been charged with abducting six girls and murdering four of them, will go on trial in the summer of 2002, six years after the crimes.

Justice Minister Marc Verwilghen gave parliament the trial date today, two days before Dutroux gets a court hearing about his complaints that the conditions of his solitary confinement are a human rights violation.
