Pastor charged with manslaughter after exorcism death
A New Zealand pastor has been charged with manslaughter after the death of a Korean woman during an exorcism.
Yong Lee, also known as Luke Lee, aged 37, entered no plea when he appeared at Auckland District Court.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again early next month.
The police arrested Lee, of Mt Roskill, following an investigation into the death of a 37-year-old woman known as Joanna during an exorcism on December 9. It took place in the converted lounge of a rented Mt Roskill home.
Police discovered the woman's body six days later.
Four of Lee's supporters, dressed in identical outfits and wearing whistles around their necks, were in the courtroom for his appearance.
