The story of serial killer Harold Shipman is to be made into a television drama starring actor James Bolam.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Television says Bolam, who played Geordie Terry Collier in The Likely Lads, will play the GP from Hyde, Greater Manchester, currently serving life sentences for the murders of 15 women patients.
