Zeta Jones 'wants to be Bond, Jane Bond'

Catherine Zeta Jones wants to become the first female Bond.

The Welsh star has reportedly told filmmakers she wants to appear in the next James Bond movie - as Jane Bond.

But she is up against Lara Croft star Angelina Jolie, who is also eyeing up the role of a female 007.

Zeta Jones said: "There is no way I am going to play Pierce Brosnan's sidekick, thank you. I'd play Bond, Jane Bond."

Film producers are said to be worried about changing Bond's sex, the Daily Star reports.

A movie insider said: "She's one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood at the moment and 007 producers believe she would be the perfect choice to be Bond's right-hand woman.

"The face of Bond changes all the time and no-one bats an eyelid but there would be quite a stir if he changed sex."
