Security guards held in armed siege

The Trocadero Centre in central London has been sealed off after two armed men overpowered security guards.

The two men gained entry to the shopping and entertainment complex, threatened the security guards then restrained them, a Scotland Yard spokeswoman says.

One of the security guards managed to escape and raise the alarm. Shaftesbury Avenue has been sealed off while a police investigation continues.

The men have not yet been found and it is not known whether they are armed with knives or guns, if any shots have been fired or if robbery is the motive for the attack.
