Judge tells white supremacist he must cover tattoos for trial

A US judge has ordered that a white supremacist have all his Neo Nazi tattoos covered up during a court appearance.

Bayzle Morgan, aged 24, is accused of stealing a man’s motorcycle at gunpoint in Las Vegas, in May 2013.

He has tattoos on his face and neck, which include the words ‘Baby Nazi’, an Iron Cross, and a swastika.

A panel of potential jurors previously said they would not be able to treat Morgan’s case fairly because of the markings, prompting a judge to require them to be covered with make-up.

Morgan showed up in court on Monday covered in concealer. District Judge Richard Scotti allowed a cosmetologist to touch up Morgan’s makeup, delaying jury selection by 30 minutes on Monday, after Morgan’s lawyer indicated that the concealer was wearing off.

The make-up artist recommended he wear a brown shirt instead of a white one for future court dates.

One potential juror said she had read about Morgan’s tattoos in the press. She was dismissed.

Morgan is also facing trial next month for murder. He is accused of killing Jean Main, aged 75. He faces the death penalty.
