Bernie Ecclestone mother-in-law kidnapped, reports say

The Brazilian mother-in-law of Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has reportedly been kidnapped in São Paulo and is being held for a ransom of $36.5m (€32m).

67-year-old Aparecida Schunck was abducted from her home in the Interlagos suburb of the city last Friday night, according to the magazine Veja, although Brazilian police have not officially commented on the reports.

Ecclestone, 85, is one of the most powerful men in sport and is worth an estimated $3.1bn (€2.7bn).
