Bear Grylls’ survival show axed by ITV

Bear Grylls’ gruelling reality TV show Mission Survive has been axed.

The show, which saw celebrities battle through the wilds on a survival expedition, will not be commissioned for another series.

The most recent series of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive saw stars including Coronation Street actress Michelle Collins and former England footballer Stuart Pearce struggle through challenges set by Grylls in the wilds of southern Africa.

Arsenal and England women’s footballer Alex Scott won the 12-day mission.

A spokeswoman for ITV said: “We would like to thank Bear and the production team for everything that they achieved with the series.

“We have a number of projects with Bear in the pipeline and we will be announcing more details in due course.”
