Islamic State using images of kittens and Nutella to lure recruits
The terrorists are posting snaps of cute felines in the arms of militants to illustrate the charmed life of a member of IS.
US general, John Carlin, warned British security experts that IS believes âkittens sellâ, because the internet is inundated with pictures of them.
The jihadis are also using pictures of Nutella, and other sweets, to sell themselves to vulnerable youngsters.
Carlin, Americaâs most senior national security prosecutor, was in the UK to meet his British national security counterparts and to discuss ways of combating the spread of the IS message.
He also said that the terror group has switched its focus from the battlefields of the Middle East to radicalising young people in their bedrooms, via the internet. He said this was a worry.
âWe have an obligation to stop our citizens from going to commit those atrocities. And we need to figure out a way to stop these people getting radicalised, (the notion of) âno passport no travel requiredâ, this call to kill where you live,â he said.
