Jamie Vardy’s parents to miss wedding due to row over bride
Final preparations were being made at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire where the couple are due to tie the knot.
However, Vardy’s mother and stepfather will not attend the wedding as they have not spoken to him for more than a year following a row over the bride-to-be.
Vardy has already postponed his nuptials three times due to his footballing commitments but will miss England’s friendly against Australia on Friday.
He said: “It will be a very quiet night on Wednesday. Obviously I hope all the guests have a good time but I will have a quiet one.
“I’ve not got a curfew but at the end of the day I’m a professional and understand what has to be done, so I will be making sure I get plenty of sleep ready to come back in.”
Vardy, who was still playing non-league football four years ago, established himself as one of England’s top strikers this season.
He scored 24 goals for Leicester as they surpassed all expectations to clinch the Premier League title and has also bagged three goals in as many games for England.
Ms Nicholson met Vardy in January 2014 when she was working in events and helped organise his 27th birthday party. The couple have a daughter Sofia together.
