Husband stunned as wife ‘comes back from the dead’ after two years

A man has been left in a state of shock after the wife he buried two years ago turned up alive and well.

Abragh Mohamed, from Azalil, Morocco, held a funeral for the woman he believed to be his wife following her death in a road accident.

But two years later she popped up on popular TV show, Al-Mujtafun which translates as ‘The Disappeared’, hoping for a reunion with her lost husband.

After friends of Mohamed saw his wife’s call to the show, they quickly filled him in on what he’d missed.

He told the Nuevo Día newspaper: “I did not know it was a different body that we buried and my wife was still alive.”

While the woman’s absence may be explained by memory loss, there is at present no answer to the question of who was buried instead of her.

At the time of the crash, the woman believed to be Mohamed’s wife was taken to the Ibn Rochd hospital in Casablanca.

The family was told that the chance of her surviving was slim, but they would still need to foot the bill for her treatment.

While Mohamed was making the four-hour journey back to his village, she died.

He then received her body which was already wrapped in a shroud inside the coffin.

Mohamed said: “I did not know it was a different body that we buried and my wife was still alive.”
