Susanne Hinte, from Warndon, Worcester, who is facing a criminal trial after being accused of stealing a purse and an Xbox controller, has not been seen in public since she claimed she had a winning ticket that had gone through the wash in her trousers.

At 9.30am yesterday, an angry man who called her a “horrible person” pulled up outside her house and started throwing eggs.

Mechanic Steve Allen launched three eggs at the house with one cracking across the front door.

He claimed that Hinte had stolen from him previously and he was outraged at her lottery claim.

Mr Allen said: “When I read the papers this morning I just thought, ‘I’ve had enough of this.’

“I’m very glad she hasn’t won. It would have been the worst if she had. I just had to do something.

“She’s a horrible person.”

Ms Hinte has not commented on the furore surrounding her lottery claim and has deleted her Facebook page.

Vinny Bolina, spokesman for West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, said Ms Hinte had appeared in court under the name Suzanna Hint and was due to go on trial accused of theft on March 1.

Ms Hinte is reported to have presented her crumpled ticket — which had a damaged barcode and no visible date — at Ambleside News in Worcester in the hours after the announcement.

The holder of the second ticket which scooped a half-share of a record £66m Lotto jackpot came forward to claim their winnings on Thursday.

Camelot said the punter, who bought a ticket for the January 9 draw in Worcester, had opted to remain anonymous after lodging a valid claim on the outstanding prize of £33,035,323.
