EU nations slam Russia intervention in Syria

European Union nations have criticised Russia’s military intervention in Syria, with the bloc’s top diplomat calling it a worrying “game changer”.

However, EU countries maintained that Moscow’s efforts would not keep president Bashar Assad in power.

EU foreign ministers warned Moscow to centre its military actions in Syria on Islamic State and not go after the moderate opposition at the same time.
