Police fire on car at Tour de France
Paris police were searching for a car that struck a taxi and crashed through barricades set up near the Tour de France finish line yesterday morning, drawing police fire hours before the arrival of the cyclists and spectators. Police said they didn’t suspect terrorism.
The car escaped with at least two occupants who were apparently unharmed after police opened fire on the vehicle in the Place de la Concorde, where the cyclists make their final triumphant rounds to conclude the race, said a union police official and a government official with knowledge of the incident.
