Dog eats 62 hair bands, 8 pairs of underwear

This hungry labrador has some unusual taste buds.

A Pennsylvania vet retrieved 62 hair bands, eight pairs of underwear, and a bandage from the dog’s stomach during exploratory surgery which lasted for two hours.

The head technician at Good Shepherd’s Veterinary Hospital in Mars told WTAE-TV that the black lab named Tiki was not responding to medicine for vomiting, diarrhoea and a loss of appetite, and X-rays showed a mass in its stomach.

The vet and his technician were shocked at the items that were pulled out.

“And I found this hair band attached to another hair band to another one to another one and to other things again,” the vet told Pittsburgh Action News 4.

Four rubber bands and a band aid were also in the dog’s stomach.

The dog’s owner, Sara Weiss, says that Tiki once swallowed a plastic foam dart, but that passed through the dog’s system naturally.
