Singer Lily Allen ‘lucky to be alive’ after gas explosion

The singer, a 30-year-old mother of two, who is holidaying in Gloucester, posted a picture of her singed eyebrows as she wrote a warning to fans about gas stoves on Saturday night.

Allen posted a picture of her singed eyelashes and eyebrows on Instagram, and wrote: “I was in a gas explosion in my caravan today and I have minor burns and synged (sic) my eyelashes considerably.

“It was absolutely terrifying and I wouldn’t want anyone to go through anything similar. Please be SO careful using gas stoves at any time but especially during festival season when one’s reaction times may be a little off.

“Feeling very grateful to be alive,” she added.
