Estranged wife ‘doesn’t intend to work again’
But Ekaterina Fields, 42, yesterday told a judge she was a “very good wife” and said she would try to find a new husband.
Fields is embroiled in a dispute with estranged husband Richard Fields, 59, at a hearing in the family division of the High Court in London.
Mr Justice Holman has been told the couple were married for about a decade, have two children and disagree over the division of assets worth around £6m (€8.3m). The dispute could cost the couple over £1m in legal bills, the court heard.
Lawyers have said Ekaterina Fields, who has a business studies degree, has been married twice and Richard Fields five times. Ekaterina Fields said she has worked as a personal assistant and tried real estate brokerage and diamond trading.
Yesterday, Stephen Trowell, for Mr Fields, asked her: “Do you intend to work at all after today?”
She replied, “No. I intend to make attempts at making money… It is unclear at this point how I would succeed,” adding, “I am a very good wife. I will try to find a husband.”
The hearing continues.
