Woman cut unborn baby out of mother

A 34-year-old woman stabbed a pregnant woman in the stomach and removed her baby as the expectant mother visited her home to buy baby clothes, Colorado authorities have said.

Officers called to the residence on Wednesday and found the 26-year-old victim, who was seven months pregnant, said Longmont police Cmdr Jeff Satur.

She underwent surgery and is expected to recover, but her baby did not survive.
