Soap star ‘unable to rewatch’ episode with fluffed lines

EastEnders star Jo Joyner has admitted she has not been able to watch back the live episode in which she fluffed her lines — despite legions of her loyal fans posting clips of the scene to her Twitter account.

Joyner, who plays Tanya Branning in the long-running soap, caused confusion on set and in homes across the country when she mixed up the name of a character with the actor playing him.

In the scene, as tension built to discover who killed Lucy Beale, Joyner’s character asked Jane Beale “How’s Adam?”, accidentally referring to actor Adam Woodyatt rather than his long-running character Ian Beale.

Joyner said she can see the funny side and has been flooded with messages of support since the live broadcast on February 18.

Speaking at the Tesco Mum of the Year awards at the Savoy in London, mother-of-two Joyner said: “It was a bad moment for me. But I’ve learnt I’ve got such great Twitter followers, such great support around me, such great friends and family — the cast and crew, everybody was so forgiving.

“I haven’t watched it back because I don’t generally watch myself back much anyway unless I really feel like I need to.”
