The Asda Sweet Red has “lower pungency levels”, meaning the flavour is less overpowering, fewer tears are shed when chopping, and the odour will not linger on the breath as long as a regular onion.

Staff at a US charity shop got a shock when they opened a donated book and found a gun inside.
An employee at the Goodwill store in Ellsworth, Maine, was going through a pile of books received from a central warehouse. The book was actually a small safe and inside was a .31-calibre black powder pistol.
There was no identifying information with the book — Den Of Lions, by former Associated Press reporter Terry Anderson, chronicling his seven years as a hostage in Lebanon. Police ran the gun’s serial number through a national database but did not get a match.
An edition of Magna Carta which could be worth up to £10m (€13.5m) has been found after it lay forgotten in a council’s archives.
The discovery of the version of the historical parchment which established the principle of the rule of law, in the files of the history department of Kent County Council, has been described as an important historical find by an expert.
The document was found in the archives kept in Maidstone but belonging to the town of Sandwich.
Professor Nicholas Vincent, of the University of East Anglia, who authenticated the document, said: “It is a fantastic piece of news for Sandwich which puts it in a small category of towns and institutions that own a 1300 issue.” There are only 24 editions of Magna Carta in known existence around the world.
A man suspected of stealing a car took off on foot from when he was stopped by police — and briefly eluded officers while he grabbed a nap under a nearby trailer.
Officers tried to stop Kevin Lee Barbour, of Pensacola, after noticing his vehicle did not have number plate lights. They say that when the deputy activated his siren, Barbour pulled off the road and ran. The officer gave chase but lost sight of him, but deputies soon followed the sound of 37-year-old Barbour’s snoring — compared to a “snorting wild boar” — to discover him in Santa Rose County, Florida.

The former star of The Only Way Is Essex said the pair will have a traditional wedding in the UK, rather than go abroad.
He told Hello! magazine: “For both of us it wouldn’t have felt right. That’s not like a real wedding in a church in the way our mums and dads got married and we want our families to be there.”
