How to make the best damn burger you can never eat

Ever wondered why your food never looks as good as the menu?

How to make the best damn burger you can never eat

So did videographer Minhky Le, so he set about exposing the mystery in his series of videos he calls 'Real Food, But Not Really' - and the title doesn't lie.

It turns out all you need to make the best-looking burger you'll never eat is an array of industrial equipment and a bunch of patience.

Take some notes for Instagram, because it's damn impressive.

There's a whole bunch of attention to detail here - Le even writes that he had taken a two-day course in food styling from a professional.

But, naturally, the pins and cotton buds

The video was uploaded to Vimeo two months ago, but only gathered attention this week - on January 20, the video was played twice. The next day, it was played 25,918 times.

But that's not all. The video is part of a series - with three so far. The other two cover an ice-cream photo shoot (where real ice cream would melt away rapidly):

... and something that might seem simple - a sparkling drink.

The viral boost of these videos follow hot on the heels of this week's McDonalds video showing the process they use to make their French fries - which is actually pretty straightforward, apart from the dextrose and sodium acid pyrophosphate bath.

In fact, McDonald's would only disagree with a little of Minhky Le's video - their Canadian branch released a video in 2012 showing how they do their food styling. It's pretty interesting - and has a lot in common with Le's approach above.

Tasty.
