Indonesia said yesterday it would execute six drug convicts, including foreigners, by firing squads on Sunday.

The country has extremely strict drug laws and often executes smugglers. More than 138 people are on death row, mostly for drug crimes. About a third of them are foreigners.

Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo said the convicts would be executed simultaneously in pairs.
