Saved By The Bell actor to stand trial

A US judge has said the actor who played Screech in the 1990s school sitcom Saved By The Bell must stand trial over a Christmas Day stabbing.

Dustin Diamond is charged with reckless endangerment and two other counts over a fight at a bar near Milwaukee.

Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy heard a police officer’s testimony before saying there was enough evidence for the case against Diamond to continue.
