The actress has recently appeared in Speed-the-Plow in the West End.

In an interview with The Observer’s The New Review, she said she plans to remain in the capital rather than return to Los Angeles.

She said: “I can go for a run here on my own. I do every morning, early. I needed to grow up and London is a better place for me to do that than anywhere else.”

Lohan, 28, grew up in the spotlight after she found fame aged 11 in The Parent Trap, but in recent years she has been in the headlines more for her troubled private life than her acting after stints in jail and rehab.

She said she has no intention of returning to live in LA. “You turn on the news in LA and it is all gossip about people,” she said. “I love the BBC. I haven’t heard myself mentioned on TV since I have been here.”
