It was one of last year’s most controversial pictures. And now it has emerged British prime minister David Cameron "muscled in" to be part of the infamous shot.

The world leaders’ controversial “selfie” photograph was taken at a memorial service last December for former South African president and anti-apartheid hero Nelson Mandela, and was slammed worldwide as lacking in good taste.

Stephen Kinnock, son of former Labour leader Neil Kinnock who is married to Danish premier Helle Thorning-Schmidt, rejected the prime minister’s claim that he had been invited to join her and US President Barack Obama in the snap.
