Four dead after small aircraft crashes
Wichita Fire Marshal Brad Crisp said at least four people inside the building at Mid-Continent Airport were killed and five more injured. Four people are still missing but a search had to be halted after a portion of the building collapsed and was deemed too dangerous for crews.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro said the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air reported losing engine power just after take-off.
Mr Molinaro said the plane crashed into the building on airport property while attempting to return to the runway. The building was used by FlightSafety International to train pilots to fly Cessna planes, company spokesman Steve Phillips said.
